A couple of days back when I was working on a project, I faced a problem for creating dynamic dummy contents. Lorem Ipsum is an industry standard for creating dummy text content. We can generate Lorem Ipsum via a GET request to Lorem Ipsum website. Following PHP code will pull Lorem Ipsum via GET request.   

Last day I had created a simple application called Yans. It pulls questions and answers from yahoo answer service for the keyword we enter into the search box. The application is licensed under GPL3. You can download the deb package from here. This application is created in python. You can download its source from here. I am sure that someone will find it useful. Please feel free to modify and customise it.

The most interesting phenomenon that I see in the freesoftware world is the way in which a software evolves. Most of the software contributed to the freesoftware world is from hobby programmers. They are passionate about programming, its more like an art for them. Once they have a basic prototype they contribute it to the freesoftware society. If it seems to be interesting to some other programmers they will take it up and contribute back. Eventually the software evolves towards perfection.
